"Get Real" Mental Health & Inclusivity Workshop

There’s no doubt that the events of this year have taken a toll on our mental health and wellbeing. From the pandemic to protests to crises across the world, we’ve been inundated with news from every angle, and along with our personal struggles and experiences, this can really affect our overall health. Mental health is an essential part of our wellbeing, and it’s time to give it a boost on our list of priorities.
Join us and hosts from the Get REAL Movement on October 14th from 12-1 pm to for an interactive mental health and inclusivity workshop to help you better your mental health and feel supported during this whirlwind of a year.
The Get REAL Movement is an organization that focuses on sharing personal stories to increase empathy and acceptance, while bettering our mental health and how we can support one another. This event will highlight topics such as mental health and inclusion, building empathy and connections, and how we can motivate and support ourselves and each other during the pandemic.
We’ll be joined by Kenzie, a body positivity and mental health activist on Instagram, and Max, a certified social worker who specializes in working with the 2SLGBTQ+ community, to share personal stories that highlight diverse and relatable experiences to foster acceptance and community.

Body Positivity Fitness Class

Has exercise lost it’s fun for you? Fitness is an important part of staying healthy, but when you start focusing too much on weight-loss or gain, we can easily lose sight of what’s most important. Your body does a lot for you, from helping you heal, to resting, and it’s important to recognize and appreciate your body the way it is - because no body is perfect!
Join us and Jenna Doak, founder of Body Positive Fitness and certified fitness trainer, for a 30 minute full body workout class focusing on bringing the joy back to your exercise. This session is 100% size inclusive - no talk of weight-loss, dieting, or body shame!
This workout will incorporate cardio, resistance, strength, and balance training, but with no crazy tools or accessories. All you need is yourself and an optional yoga mat! All fitness levels are welcome, so grab your gym clothes and get ready to sweat. Following the class will be a Q&A for you to ask any and all of your fitness or body-positivity questions, in a safe, supportive environment.

Warrior Class

Looking to step-up your workout routine this fall? Want to push your limits and see what your body can *really* do? Look no further, we have just the fitness class for you. Unleash your inner warrior on November 4th at 5:30 PM with a FREE live fitness class with One Academy!
This session features longer training intervals of intense exertion, testing your agility, strength and grit. In other words, it's time to channel your inner Mulan and get down to business.
What you’ll need for this class:
- Elevated platform to step on (ie box/stool/chair)
- Weighted object (ie bag of books, cans)
- Your hustle!
If you want to keep that warrior energy going, there’s even a random draw for two 2-week customized fitness plans created by a One Academy fitness trainer to be won during the class!

Sass Class

Let’s face it. When we’re at home, and we put on our favourite Spotify playlists, a solo dance party is pretty much inevitable. Well, instead of reaching for your hairbrush-microphone, grab your dancing shoes, and get ready to work it with Army of Sass!
We’ve teamed up with Army of Sass for a FREE dance-inspired workout class on November 18th have fun, teach you some new moves, and unleash your inner diva!
Taught by Vanessa Lyn, (a Guelph-Humber graduate!) this class will include a warm-up, dance-inspired workout, drills & skills, and even some choreography. But if that sounds a little daunting, don’t worry - no dance experience is required!
